Truly Good Food in a Fascinating City

This tour was a perfect mix of tasty food, historic information and downtown site seeing. Amy was a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. We made stops at De Fazio's (delicious pizza), La Capital Tacos (amazing al pastor), farmers market, and Brown's Brewing (yummy cauliflower bites, refreshing lager, and juicy IPA). We also stopped at Quang's Vietnamese Bistro where we had a pork bun dish (vermicelli noodles) that will change your life. We highly recommend this tour for its easy walking pace, interesting insight about Troy, and for the truly good food.

Food and history

I thought I might learn something about local restaurants but I also learned much about food, chefs, the history of food & beverage and local history.

This tour was great!

We did Historic Albany. She was so accommodating because we had two kids with us and a dog on our way home from vacation. (Would not recommend but we made it work!) The food was delicious! We all had a different favorite item. The area we walked is definitely up and coming so I would love to see it in a few years, it’s going to be amazing. We highly recommend this tour and will definitely be doing the Troy tour next time we are in New York!

An amazing experience from beginning to end!

Amy clearly loves the history of Troy and the variety of foods available there. She not only shares historical tidbits, but has photos of the way buildings used to be so people get a real sense of living history. The food choices were varied - and plentiful! I can't recommend the tour highly enough.

Highly recommended!

Our food tour of Albany was delicious and fun. Amy, our guide, has so many fascinating facts and historical information to share with guests. We've lived in the Albany area for 30+ years and knew so little before this tour. Different dietary needs are easily accommodated; for example, one of us doesn't drink alcohol so instead of beer we received delicious lemonade. The walk was easy and well-paced. We were served so much food that we couldn't eat everything and had to bring some home. The tour makes a wonderful gift; I gave it to my husband for Fathers Day.

It was absolutely amazing!

I purchased a Custom Capital Region Box of Local Love from Amy as a gift for my roommate and I, and it was absolutely amazing! As a foodie, it gave me the opportunity to support local businesses without having to leave my home, which I truly appreciated. Amy is very kind, prompt with email responses, and customizes the boxes based on your personal preferences. I would definitely recommend these boxes to anyone who wants to try something new, or who is looking for a special gift to purchase for someone else.

Pleasant surprise!

I was invited by my girlfriend to join this tour never had been before on food tour so I was a little skeptical. But I was really surprised at amount of preparation that the hostess put into this adventure from her personal knowledge of the food to the historic knowledge of Troy her pasión not only for Troy but for food and the genuine interest she show to us as a group. The food was really good and they gave us such big portions that by the end of the tour I was so stuff that us was hard to walk 7 different food in total. I will highly recommend because of the overall value the food the education of Troy the new friends we make the pasión and friendlyness of the Hosttes. The whole experience was worth while.
