This year Taste of Troy Food Tours will be partnering with the Musicians of Ma’alwyck, a flexible- size chamber ensemble in residence at the Schuyler Mansion NYS Historic Site and Schenectady County Community College. The group specializes in music performed in America during the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries. They will be adding a short, musical segment to the June 5th Historic Downtown Albany Food Tour and the June 12th Central Troy Historic District Food Tour. These are fundraisers for the organization, limited to 20 guests. $85 a ticket for Albany and $75 a ticket for Troy.
100th Anniversary of Prohibition
This year marks the centennial of American prohibition. On our tours, gain insight to how prohibition impacted the bustling cities of Albany and Troy. Cities that were in the prime were hit hard by the 1919 Volstead Act that banned the sale of alcohol and impacted an industry that fueled the area. Our tours are a fun way to see how the cities have rebuilt themselves and learn some of the secrets behind your favorite local places!
