Our tours take place in rain or shine. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for walking.

This tour is for all fitness levels and best for older children through adults.

Tours run Saturdays, from May through October, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.

What to Expect

Put on your walking shoes for an entertaining and delicious way to learn about Troy, its ups and downs, and the role food is playing in bringing this architectural gem back to life. You’ll sip and sample some New York classic flavors (often with a new twist). Of course, we will sprinkle in history, architecture, and culture to round out your perfect Saturday in the Collar City.

We meet outside our first taste stop, 275 River Street, Troy.  Our Central Troy Historic District Food Tour is a leisurely 3 hour, 1.5 mile walk with frequent refreshing and informative stops along the way, so it’s suited for most ages and fitness levels.  We end at the Troy Waterfront Farmer’s Market, with plenty of time for you to shop and explore the 80+ vendors. Let your culinary adventure begin!

Our tours are designed for anyone that loves great food and loves to discover the hidden gems and interesting stories of Troy, NY. If you are in search of local food establishments, history, culture, and architecture that is what you will find on our tours. Even if you have food allergies or food restrictions, we welcome you to join us– we’ll make accommodations and make you feel comfortable all along the tasting journey. Whether you are married, single, on a first date, getting together with friends and family, or on a company outing, our tours offer a lot for everyone.

Our tastes and sips are pre-ordered to be ready for our arrival. To maximize your chances of getting the date and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, AMEX, or MasterCard from our website or by calling. Cash and/or walk-up traffic the day of the tours are not accepted.

The tours are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. We also bring extra umbrellas in case you do not have your own umbrella. However, we advise to check the weather conditions for your days event and dress appropriately.

Children are welcome, but please keep in mind that this is a 3-hour, 1.5 mile walking tour, and some children do not have the stamina or attention span to enjoy it. You know your children best. Please note that we do offer 1 alcohol tasting, and a non-alcoholic beverage will be provided for children. We offer a discounted rate of $29 for children 12 and under, and children 3 and under are free. Children 3 and under are welcome to share your food.

Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at all the food-tasting locations.

A great tour, nicely paced with lots of good information. I have been living in this area for many years and thought I knew the Capital district. I loved seeing St Paul's church...Plenty of time to shop at the Troy market. This would be a nice way to introduce out of town visitors to our area.
